Mobile Thoughts #1

First of all, welcome to Mobile Thoughts, where I’ll be posting short random ideas using my mobile phone. I really hope that I can do this everyday. Anyway, my random thoughts for today…

1. Michael Jackson’s death is still in the headlines. I feel sad when I hear his songs played on the radio and when I see his music videos on MTV.

2. I have watched “The Transformers” with my college friends. The effects are great. The story is just fine. I’ll be making a review of the movie soon.

3. I had a flu shot yesterday and I am feeling its side effects. I suddenly had mild colds and I felt a little dizzy this morning.

Michael Jackson (1958-2009)

I had some thoughts of Michael Jacson for the past few days. First, when I answered a prompt in Plinky asking “Whose famous people did I see in real life?” (Click here). I answered Michael Jackson. I feel very lucky to see him when he had a concert here in the Philippines in 1996. I actually did not watch his concert but I saw him when he went to a public hospital in Parañaque. He waved at the people outside from the second floor of the building.

Second, on my way home the other day, the bus was playing his concert on TV. We can’t really help but watch his outstanding performances. I am not actually a huge fan of MJ but I really consider him as an icon, inspite of all the controversies about him. His talent is one of a kind and his songs are classics. Some people even cry when they see MJ performs live.

For him to be called the “King of Pop” means he has the same level of respect from people like Elvis Presley, Madonna, The Beatles, etc.

That’s why I am really shocked after hearing the news that he already passed away at the age of 50. He is such a big loss in the music industry, but I know that he will always be remembered and his music will live forever.

Goodbye Michael! Thank you for your music that inspired all of us.

We Can Talk About It

Let's drink to that!

Let's drink to that!

One of the things that I look forward to whenever I meet my friends is staying somewhere we can talk after having our dinner. We would usually go in a coffee shop, though we have also tried staying in an ice cream bar. Well, for me, I don’t care much on the place just as long as the place is comfortable and perfect for conversations.

Well, me and my friends would usually talk about what’s been happening to our lives recently, then we’ll talk about our high school memories until we all laugh about it. I should say that those stories are already “classic” because we keep on talking about them all over again, but still, we can’t avoid laughing about all those things.

Well, we just talk about anything that comes into our minds – revelations of past secrets, frustrations, problems, good news, etc.

These conversations actually make me feel good and realize a lot of things. One of the reasons is that I am now able to talk some things which I can’t before. It’s nice to feel that at least we have grown up and we already have a sense of maturity. Also, I feel that I am not ashamed to tell stories about my frustrations and mistakes because I am with the people who share their stories of frustrations and mistakes as well.

I just hate it that time is running fast that’s why we have to cut our conversation and leave the place already. But even though the time was short, it still makes me thank the people whom I had a conversation. It’s just nice to know that an effortless talking can make someone else thankful for it.

So the next time someone would invite me over to have a cup of coffee, I am 90% sure that I would join them. Well, I am really not after where we’ll go, but I would really be after the conversation while drinking a cup of coffee, or even eating a scoop of ice cream.

Signs Of Depression

Whenever me and my friends tell each other that we are “depressed”, one thing goes to our minds… go shopping! Yes, that is one of the many ways of releasing depression.

I’ve been thing of posting this blog entry for few days now and I made a shortlist of some causes of our depression, as well as the ways of releasing it.

First in the list of the causes of depression is… WORK. Yup… work. It’s just so boring to think that we have to go to work in 5 out of 7 days in a week, worse is 6 out of 7, and worst is when you have to go to work the whole week. Come on, rest is important. Your body will always find time to rest. That is why I always look forward to an “event” at least once a week. What I mean with “event” is something like a party in the office, or a training outside the office. It can also be a movie night or dinner with friends. Well, anything that will change the usual everyday routine. Work is really stressful and can be boring at times.

Depression can also be caused by personal problems, which we really encounter once in a while. As they say, it just depends on you how you will handle your problems.

Here are the signs when I am “depressed”. I hope most of you can relate in this list…

1. I go to the mall unplanned, and buy clothes.
2. I buy 2 or more audio CDs.
3. I inivite anyone who is available to go the mall with me.
4. I eat a lot.
5. I go to a quiet place close to nature.
6. I buy some magazines to find new art inspirations.
7. I buy a book which I will not read.
8. I update my blog and all social networking sites.
9. I text people our of the blue, especially those whom I don’t have any communication for a long period of time.
10. I go to the church when there is no mass so I can pray silently.

Doing one or more items in the list I showed actually helps me to get out of any depression. You might have other things that you do whenever you feel depressed, but just a friendly reminder: don’t do things that will make you more depressed. Make sure that the things that you will do will help you get out of your depression and will make you feel that you are a better and stronger person.

Sorry, walang long weekend next year!

Ako? For the first time in my life, pumasok ako sa Araw Ng Kalayaan.

” pwede na rn,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, pero sana about ung independence day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ok!!!!” – HAhahaahahahahah

– Nal

At “asap” pa ha.
