State Of The Nation Address (SONA) 2008

Promises are made to be broken. Wehehehe…

Year 2001 kasi siya naging presidente. Last SONA na niya next year, hopefully.

  5. President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s 8th State of the Nation Address was well-delivered and well-research and many facts, figures stated which shows truthful statement. The presentation of the speech was done with some artistic ideas to highlight some important points that dwell on the theme: “RAMDAM NG ORDINARYONG PINOY ANG PAG-ASENSO” with the President SONA, “We are on the right direction”.
SONA’s real issue is the EVAT, “which being used to provide funds for projects by helping our country to be the richest country in the world”, said by PGMA. “This is fairly reflective of the nation’s actual state and the government’s short and long term plans and programs that focus on food and energy, self sufficiency and self-reliance”.
In terms of oil-price hike, we shouldn’t blame the President for the high prices of gasoline and oil because other countries were also having these problems. It is not the fault of the President that the price of fuel is over a hundred dollars.

Some people criticizing the 2008 SONA,
How immature these people criticizing PGMA’s SONA is. That’s why Philippines isn’t developing and improving because Filipinos always jump to the conclusion. What they can do for our country??!!… They shouldn’t judge the President and government officials and rancor them because of the penury suffering by the Philippines. Blame all those hard-headed ‘nominal’ citizens of our country. What they always do is to judge and criticize other people without any proof or evidence. What do you think will happen if we all follow the plans of government for the current and succeeding years? Success, right? We are making our own destiny! We are just making ourselves greedy! Even our government can’t provide all our necessities. We should make our own ways to solve it. Not that, we are always lying on them. Teach ourselves to be independent.
Over 80 million (approx.) population of our country, do you think it is all recognize? No!!! But if we try to stand in our own we could lessen the burden of the Philippines. Unemployment? We have enough jobs for the unemployed. But what? We are just sitting aside and increase the crime rate of our country. Imagine, the government has been providing us enough opportunities but still we don’t grab it. If we want to change the Philippine’s economic, political and moral standing, start within ourselves. “Its not about what our country can do for us, it is about what we can do for our country”.
I think we should take the brighter side. I mean to say, look at the brighter side. Many say President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo hasn’t done anything. In TV news, I saw people burning a statue of woman with the face of our President with words like “poverty”, “corruption” etc. etc… Many are truly angry. But haven’t they thought of the things Arroyo’s done for the country? She did have a viable and workable program to respond to the economic crisis. “Let us help our President to overcome the perfect storm”. Have we asked ourselves whether we had done our obligation? Are we not particular about the bad governance? Or we allowed it to happen even when we are supposed to act on it? Are we the type of people that put the blame on others, or are we the type that could act…… Nowadays, crisis is everywhere! Yet, this is “Earth the largest room for improvement”, they say!
I learned something. How will there be a change, even if the Leader is willing, if the hearts of the Members are unwilling? The country’s defect is not all Arroyo’s administration; it’s with the people as well. If we Filipinos take a little bit more courage to stand, a little bit more love for the country, and less war, less stupidity and waste of time, maybe we can all make the Philippines a better place ‘Altogether’. Sitting around and ‘voicing out’ the wrong way and complaining, finding all the faults you can find, wouldn’t help. War begets war. If you want true Peace, approach with Peacetime. I’m not a PGMA lover. I’m just stating that she shouldn’t be hated that much. But we should love her, as we should love our country. We must there with a helping hand for she is our President as of now. I hope we realize that.
PGMA is trying to correct all anomalies behind her nevertheless, that’s the real image of politics. I’m not blaming anyone yet we must start changing the Philippines within ourselves first…..
