Week In Review (Week 3)

My Life (ML)

January 13-19, 2008

It seemed like the previous weekend was fast for me because I went to work last Saturday. I did not find enough time to rest last Sunday as well because my family had a lunch date. But its no problem with me.

The week was good. I was not that bored at work because of my Nokia 5300 (my current music player). But it’s already starting to have some problems that’s why I am thinking of buying a cheap but nice music player. As I said, the week was smooth for me. But yesterday, when I was about to go home, one of my co-department, talked to me. He asked my progress for the project where I am in right now. I know to myself that I’ve been really doing it so I told him everything without pretensions.  And then he told me that one of the bosses saw me with an earphone/headset on my ear… And you know what? That incident ruined my afternoon…

Now, just like in my previous Week In Review, I wonder how this blog post can reach their eyesights…

“I am sorry if you saw me with an earphone. Yup, I do admit that I am listening to music. Sorry because I do not know that you don’t allow something like that inside the office. I wouldn’t do it if I know it. But don’t think that I am not doing anything. If that is the rule inside the office, I would obey it, and I would understand. But if you ask me why… I am more productive at work if I listen to my favorite music. I am a programmer. I know that if you ask all the programmers out there, most of them likes listening to music while doing their work. As I said, I will understand if that’s the rule. But I realized that it’s hard to move around people who really can’t understand your job. I am starting to miss the IT environment. I gave it a try and still giving a try working in a totally new environment for me. There are pros and cons. But I want to focus on the pros right now”.

Though there are some “annoying” events this week, there are also things which I am really thankful for. I just hope that I will learn to hold them in my hands and never let them go.
