My Life Episode #1: Welcome to My Life! A new department here in Rowjielogy. Originally, this is from My Reality Show blog.
New Year spirit is still in the air since 2008 has just started. It’s so nice that people were filled with new hopes for the year ahead, and I do admit that I also feel the same. I felt that year 2008 is a new beginning, after all the challenges I encountered last year. In short, I want a better year this time. But I know that I shouldn’t just rely on my luck and fate, but rather, I should also do something about it.
Every new year, people come up with their “new year’s resoltuions”. Some are able to live up with their resolutions, while some can’t. I am also the type of person who can’t live up with my resolutions. But at least, I’m giving it a try every year. Hehe. Well, just like what others say, we don’t have to wait for new year to change. We can change for the better whenever we want to.
Anyway, let me share some of my new year’s resolutions which I want to achieve this year:
-
To have a constant communication with the Lord. I want to do this by regularly praying to Him, regularly attending the Holy Eucharist, and regulalry reading His words (through Our Daily Bread).
-
And speaking of attending the Holy Eucharist regularly, I want to always come on time during eucharistic celebrations.
-
To buy only the things I really need. I must learn to know the things I need from the things I want. And with this, I know I can save money. I want to save money so I can help even in my little way in the construction of our house. I also want to save some part of what I’ll earn for my savings.
-
To maximize my time. I know that most of my time during weekdays will be alloted for work. So I don’t want to waste my time at work doing nothing. I am just new in my new job and I’m still under probation. Either I want to be a regular employee or not, I want to prove to the company that they are not wrong in hiring me. I want that after my probationary contract expires, I want that I have done my job well. I know that if I will, it will benefit the both of us in one way or another.
-
To have time for my family. Just like what others say about me, I am a family oriented person. I want to make sure that I really have more time for my family. I know that I am being able to live up with this, so I just want this to continue.
-
To have time for my friends. There’s no problem with my high school friends because we have really time to see each other (except when we are busy). I want to have time for my college friends. I’ve been refusing to join them recently due to conflicts of schedules, and some personal reasons. I want to make sure this year that I can meet them at least once in a while.
-
To have time for the things I want to do. I do believe that we should really balance our time for everything – time for work, time for rest, time for family, time for friends, time for God, and time for the things we like to do. Aside from feeling fulfilled because of work (I hope I would feel it soon!), I also feel fulfilled whenever I do the things I really like to do. I am really inclined to graphics design, most especially on typography. I also like to continue blogging for this year. I hope that interesting and senseful topics will always come into my mind.
-
To control my temper. I would always reason out whenever I am hot tempered that “I am an Aries”. Being hot tempered is one of the most common description about Aries people. And I really want to avoid that. That’s why I will always try to say to myself, “Rowell, cool down!”.
-
To continue learning about new things. I don’t want to be contented on the things I already know, especially in our field (Information Technology). I hope that I would find the time and initiative to continuously learn about new things.
-
To be a better me. I want to lessen my shyness, so that I can be able to mingle with new people whom I will encounter. I know that it is one thing that really blocks me from being friendly. I really want to enhance my relationships with my friends, as well as gain new friends. I also want to avoid things that will have negative impressions about me.
Whoah. I said that I will only mention some of my new year’s resolutions, but I think I have mentioned it all. Haha. Anyway, I think it’s my first time to blog about this topic. To make it a little more exciting, I want to always come back to this post and see if I have been able to live up with it. Let’s see on new year’s day of 2009 what will happen with these resolutions.
