Wowowee Controversy
Actually, hindi ko ito napanood ng live dahil nagcocomputer ako ng mga oras na iyon, at hindi naman talaga ako avid viewer ng Wowowee. Nabalitaan ko na lang ito sa aking mommy. Hindi ko maimagine noong una kung ano nangyari kaya hindi muna ako naniwala na may daya. (Ayan, baka kasi sabihin ng iba dyan na perket Kapuso ako eh ijujudge ko agad ang issue) Pinanood ko ito sa You Tube. Dalawa ngang numero ang lumabas doon sa wheel na kulay violet. Nagtaka na ako.
Ang tanong ng bayan, “Bakit dalawang numero ang nandoon sa wheel na kulay violet?”
Sabi nila, isa raw itong “honest mistake”. Talaga? Hindi ba ito chineck bago magsimula ang Wowowee? Malamang nga, marami ang maghihinala na may daya doon. Pero ang tanong rin, “Yun lang ba ang wheel na may dalawang numero?”. Kasi diba, kung tatakpan yung 2 million doon sa kulay violet na wheel, malamang, meron pa dapat isang wheel na may 2 million. Kaya maaari ring isa itong nakakahiyang “honest mistake”.
Kaya nga tama rin si Joey De Leon na kailangang mag-explain ni Willie Revillame. Explanation lang naman diba? Then, bahala na ang mga tao kung maniniwala sila o hindi. Ang mahalaga ay ma-i-explain niya yun ng maayos. Then, tapos na ang isyu.
Perro alam niyo ang talagang iningingitngit ko dyan sa Wowowee ng ABS-CBN? Nang muli itong mag-ere matapos ang trahedya sa Ultra. Sa palagay ko, hindi na dapat binalik pa ang programang yan.

ang wowowee ay isang malaking kasinungalingan… tuluyan nang nawala ang kredibilidad nito, mula sa pamamahala ng mga malalaking pagtitipon, sa sistema ng kanilang mga palaro, at sa mismong host nito (na iniisip na mapapatawad siya ng mga tao sa simpleng pag-iyak ng walang luha)
let’s face it… ang wowowee ay isa lamang sandata ng abs-cbn upang kumita… marahil ay malaki pa nga ang kinikita nito kumpara sa mga pinapamahagi nito… katulad ng isang produkto, ang wowowee ay nakapackage lamang bilang isang matulungin at mapagbigay na show na ang hangarin hindi “magpasaya” (katulad ng lagi nitong sinasambit) kundi kumita…
An issue that surely will magnify the network wars. Nothing truly good will come out of it.
Yes, there really is a big flaw on what happened in the said episode. In the first place, it is a contest that involves people (the mass), money and of course trust. I saw that in the evening news where Willie Revillame, the host of Wowowee, expressed his feelings on national television about the said controversy.
Yes, Mr. de Leon has a good point on his statement “Explain before you complain”. I agree to that for whatever happened in that show, it was aired on national television where millions of viewers witnessed it.
I live near Ultra (you’ve been in my place right Rowjie!?) and saw the crowd even before said tragedy occurred. People sleep in the streets, bathe in it, eat in it, live in it and even turned it into a public toilet. Henry Javier St. is a very clean and peaceful place then but at that moment, it was chaos. I even saw the dead bodies of those who were caught in the stampede. My dads car even got bumps in it because of that incident. We witnessed the stampede and as far as I can say, it was the mob and the broadcasting networks fault that initiated the tragedy.
Well, I agree to what you say Rowjie. They should have stopped the program. What I can’t believe right now is that the Court ruled not guilty on the host and other staff who handled the event. I’m not sure if there were any form of injustice there or should I say corruption in the ruling.
I just hope soon people realize that even we are on a economic crisis, we can still make a difference. Not to manipulate the mass but to anticipate them before they turn into a mob.
